What made you decide to open a resale store?
I decided to open my resale/thrift store because thrifting has always been something I truly enjoy. I grew up shopping at thrift stores, flea markets, and garage sales with my mom and my aunt, and I’ve loved it ever since. There’s something special about finding items with character and giving them a new home. Opening my own shop felt like a natural next step—creating a welcoming place where people can shop affordably, find one-of-a-kind pieces, and support a local small business at the same time.
What pushed you to just do it?
An opportunity to purchase the business came up, and I knew I might not get another chance like it. I had always loved thrifting and resale, and when this opened up, it felt like the moment to stop talking about it and finally do it. It was truly an “if not now, when?” decision.

The Thrifty Flea was born from a lifelong love of thrifting—
shopping thrift stores, flea markets, and garage sales has been a joy since childhood, thanks to time spent hunting treasures alongside family.
Over the years, that passion grew into a clear vision: create a welcoming place where people can find one-of-a-kind items, shop affordably, and support a local small business.
When the opportunity came up to purchase the business, it felt like the right moment to take the leap—an “if not now, when?
